Abstract

To arrange electronic information displays at bus stops, which give the customer an estimate of the waiting for the next bus. Traffic congestion in cities makes it difficult for public transport operators to deliver services according to schedules. Disruptions to schedules have a negative impact on the quality of service provided to the customer. This is a universal problem, experienced in every major city. One solution being deployed in many cities is the provision of electronic information displays at bus stops, which give the customer an estimate of the waiting for the next bus. The device at the bus station will display the time, and the time at which the bus of interest last passed that stop using LCD. The device at the bus will be able to identify itself when called upon using RFID. The communication between the devices will be wireless, and must be complicated enough to tell the difference between many buses and stops. It must be programmable so that the system could be used in any city with public transportation. The global position system (GPS) used to give the latitude and longitude position of the bus. Using this latitude and longitude position we can find the exact position of the bus. By sending (from GSM) the request message from passenger to the bus system passenger can get the exact position of the bus as reply.
