Project Synopsis & Overview

This project develops an automated system for comparing two legal documents and identifying their degree of similarity using Natural Language Processing techniques. Users can upload two legal documents through a Streamlit-based interface. The system performs text preprocessing such as lowercasing, tokenization, stop-word removal, and stemming or lemmatization. The processed documents are converted into numerical representations using TF-IDF vectorization, and Cosine Similarity is then applied to calculate the similarity between the documents. Finally, the similarity score is displayed as a percentage through the user interface. The system can support legal professionals in contract comparison, document review, and identification of similar or redundant content.
