A prison also known as gaol is a place in which people are physically confined and usually deprived of a range of personal freedoms. Imprisonment or incarceration is a legal penalty that may be imposed by the state for the commission of a crime. A crime also called an offence or a criminal offence is an act harmful not only to some individuals but also to the community or the state. It is also an act or the omission of an act that is hidden or the omission of a duty that is commanded by a public law and that makes the offender liable to punishment by that law.A criminal is a law breaker, convict, offender, villain, culprit, sinner, felon. A criminal is convicted when found guilty by the laws of the country. Other terms used are penitentiary, correctional facility, remand centre, detention centre, and gaol or jail. As well as convicted or suspected criminals, prisons may be used for internment of those not charged with a crime. In developing a prison management information system. It highlights the background, literature review, methodology, data presentation, analysis,implementation, findings, recommendations and conclusions.The main objective was to develop a computer based prison management system for the above mentioned prison. We’ve done everything in our existing work in manual work. It took time to complete this operation. Everything is done online in the proposed work..so, time consuming. In this venture, the jailer plays a major role.
